The National Ozone Unit of Grenada in conjunction with the United Nations Environment Programme, Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean (UNEP/ROLAC) and the Grenada Refrigeration Air-Conditioning and Ventilating Association (GRAVA) has organized a three (3) day regional training workshop in Alternative Refrigerants to Ozone Depleting Substances for technicians of the Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Sector.

The training workshop has been organized as an initiative to facilitate South-South co-operation between the network of National Ozone Units of the Sub-region of the English Speaking Caribbean and Haiti and will focus on two primary areas: Hydrocarbons and R-410A Technologies.

This training workshop will be held at the Grenada National Stadium from Tuesday November 27th – Thursday November 29th, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.

NOU Certified Trainers, Mr. Michael Mitchell and Mr. Henry Frederick of the Grenada Refrigeration, Air-Conditioning and Ventilating Association (GRAVA), will conduct the Hydrocarbon component of the training. Mr. Badasee Nanan, an RSES Certified Member (CM) from the Air-conditioning and Refrigeration Industry Association (ARIA) of Trinidad and Tobago, will conduct the R-410A component.

An invitation is hereby extended to you to nominate one of your technicians to attend this training. Please find attached a copy of the registration form to be completed and submitted on or before November 20th, 2012. Limited spaces are available and confirmation of attendance will be on a first come first serve basis. The cost of the workshop is fifty dollars ($50.00) for members of the Grenada refrigeration Air-conditioning and Ventilating Association and one hundred and fifty dollars ($150.00) for all other persons. Participants will receive a certificate of competency at the end of the workshop. Overseas participants are free.
