April 28th, 2011, St. George’s, Grenada. Two students of the T A Marryshow Community College (TAMCC) are the beneficiaries of a financial donation made to TAMCC by the Grenada Refrigeration, Air-conditioning and Ventilating Association (GRAVA).

At a brief ceremony held at the College on Thursday April 28th, 2011, president of the Grenada Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Ventilating Association (GRAVA), Mr. Michael Mitchell, presented a cheque to TAMCC as a contribution towards the purchase of two airline tickets for two students from the second year Refrigeration and Air-condition (RAC) class who would be participating in an internship program in Barbados. The two students are Kevon Charles and Isaac Nelson.

In total, thirty five students from TAMCC would participate in this internship program which will be at The Crane Residential Resorts in Barbados. The internship will be for a period of three (3) months. Seven (7) of the thirty five (35) students are members of the RAC program. Mrs. Patricia Benjamin, Chair of the Electronics/Electrical Department of TAMCC expressed appreciation and gratitude, on behalf of TAMCC, to GRAVA for their generous donation.

GRAVA has, in the past, made other donations to the RAC programme at TAMCC. For example, GRAVA has donated tools and equipment to the refrigeration lab and has also provided tool kits to the ten (10) first year students who are currently scholarship recipients of the NOU Scholarship Program. Among those present at the short ceremony were: Mr. Kwabena Amen, Internship Co-ordinator, Mr. Michael Cadore, RAC Lecturer and Mr. Leslie Smith of the National Ozone Unit (NOU).

The students are expected to leave for Barbados on Wednesday May 5, 2011.
